Volunteers Help Get the Aptos History Museum Ready for Upcoming Grand Opening

The Aptos History Museum volunteers are very excited about how the Museum project is gaining momentum. In the near future, the Museum will open to the public. The volunteers have been busy contributing their various talents to collectively make it happen.

The Museum is fortunate to have a wide variety of items from the past representing the rich history of Aptos â€" an Ohlone collection, memorabilia from the logging days, various pieces from the apple farms and famous local hotels, along with a rich array of photos from our past.

In October, the Aptos History Museum had the first “Dining for History” dinner at Marie Callender’s. There was a wonderful turnout and Marie Callender’s helped collect over $300. Thanks to Marie Callender’s for the wonderful support.

The November Dining for History was hosted by Enfantino’s Italian CafĂ©. A total of 50 people came to dine and helped raise over $700. John Hibble gave a brief slideshow overview of Seacliff History â€" just whetting the appetites of all who came, but leaving them hungry to learn more about the rich history of this beloved area.

Thanks to Enfantino’s for their gracious hospitality and contribution.

For December, there was one more dinner at Tony and Alba’s Pizza that was also successful. Thanks to Tony and Alba’s for ending the tour of restaurants for the year and contributing to the success of our first Aptos “Dining for History” fundraising effort.

Mark your calendars for our upcoming “Dining for History” evenings. Manuel’s â€" Jan. 30, Jan. 31, and Feb. 1 a portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to the Aptos History Museum. Ma Maison â€" Feb. 21. Please make reservations for the February dinner by calling 831-688-1467.
You can also join the Aptos History Museum. Contributions of $1,000 or more will go toward an endowment fund to provide long-term support.
